The Virginia Food for Virginia Kids (VFVK) initiative increases the capacity and resiliency of school nutrition programs, builds and enhances Virginia farm to school programming, and creates workforce development initiatives to strengthen the school nutrition workforce. Led by the Virginia Department of Education, Office of School Nutrition Programs, VFVK helps school nutrition programs transition towards scratch-cooked operations, increase procurement of local foods, and provide culturally-inclusive meal offerings.
